Werder Bremen head coach Daniel Thioune has revealed that Super Eagles defender Felix Agu will not be rushed back to full fitness, Afrik Foot reports.
The 26-year-old suffered a tendon injury that kept him out of action for four months, and as such he missed the AFCON 2025 tournament with Nigeria in Morocco.
Agu only returned to action in the first week of February after his last appearance came in October.

Werder Bremen: Agu doubtful for Mainz 05 clash
The German-born Nigerian was scheduled to start against Saint Pauli two weeks ago, but pulled up with a muscle injury in the warm-up to the game.
Werder didn’t expect the injury to get to the extent it did, and after playing just three games in five months, the club are willing to take their time in Agu’s recovery.

Ahead of Werder’s clash against Mainz 05, Daniel Thioune was unwilling to confirm whether Agu would be ready in time for Sunday.
“He definitely won’t be starting this week,” he said in quotes revealed by the club’s official website.
“Although we’ll decide on Saturday at the earliest as to whether they’ll be in the squad or not.
“Neither of them [Agu and Milosevic] have been fully reintegrated into team training yet. If they feel ready and we get the go-ahead from the medical staff, then they may play a role,” the 51-year-old concluded.
