One-time English Premier League winners West Bromwich Albion are considering parting ways with Super Eagles striker Josh Maja, Afrik Foot reports.
The 27-year-old has been with the Albions since August 2023, scoring 29 goals and providing nine assists in 93 games across all competitions.
However, his time at the Hawthorns has been marked with injuries and fitness problems, casting a doubt on whether the club will renew his contract, which expires next month.

West Bromwich Albion nearing contract conclusion regarding Maja
The Baggies have already released former captain Jed Wallace and striker Daryl Dike following the end of the Championship season, and Maja could follow suit.
As per West Brom News, the club’s hierarchy are ready for a massive overhaul after a relatively poor 2025/2026 campaign that saw them finish just outside the Championship’s relegation spot.
In relation to Maja, West Brom are eyeing Falkirk striker Barney Stewart to replace the Nigerian.

Stewart scored 10 goals in 21 games for Falkirk as 6th on the Scottish Premiership table.
The 22-year-old Scotland Under-21 international is delighted with Albion’s interest and would be open to joining a team in England, and the prospects of promotion to the Premier League appeal to the striker.
However, the club are looking to also bring in an experienced striker to help Stewart settle in, should the deal go through.

Should West Brom find no experienced forward on their radar, an exit for Maja would seem unlikely.
