Victor Osimhen scored twice to fire Galatasaray to a 2-1 victory over Fenerbahçe in Monday’s Intercontinental Derby at RAMS Park.
The Super Eagles forward struck in the 29th and 44th minutes to put Galatasaray in control before İrfan Can Kahveci pulled one back for Fenerbahçe in the 62nd minute.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser, but Galatasaray held on to claim all three points and stay top of the Süper Lig.
Osimhen’s brace earned him the headlines, an 8.9 rating on FotMob and the man-of-the-match award. Still, the victory also brought three notable milestones for the former Napoli striker.

Victor Osimhen’s new milestones after Fenerbahçe brilliance
Osimhen moves ahead of Milan Baroš
Victor Osimhen’s brace against Fenerbahçe lifted him to 49 Super Lig goals for Galatasaray, taking him past former Czech Republic international Milan Baroš, who scored 48 times for the club.
The Nigerian reached that tally in just 59 appearances, a stunning scoring record he has maintained since joining the Istanbul side.
Gheorghe Hagi (59 goals) and Mauro Icardi (65) are the only foreign players in Galatasaray’s history with more league goals than Osimhen, placing the Nigerian third on the club’s all-time foreign goalscorers list.
Galatasaray are unbeaten when Osimhen scores
Galatasaray have yet to lose a league match in which Osimhen, one of the greatest African stars, has scored.
Before Monday’s derby, he had scored 47 goals in 35 matches, with Galatasaray winning 31 and drawing four. His two goals against Fenerbahçe took his tally to 49 goals in 36 matches. The club have won 32 of those games and drawn the other four.

In that time, Osimhen has scored 14 winning goals for Galatasaray, including the most recent one as was predicted on Afrik-Foot’s preview platform.
Osimhen keeps his unbeaten record against Fenerbahçe
Osimhen has still never lost to Fenerbahçe. In six meetings with Galatasaray’s city rivals, he has recorded four wins and two draws, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
His latest contribution began in the 29th minute when Barış Alper Yılmaz found him near the right edge of the penalty area. Osimhen drove into the box and beat Ederson with a left-footed shot inside the near post.
He struck again just before half-time after Davinson Sánchez’s effort fell into his path. The striker reacted quickly, redirecting the ball into the net with an improvised header. Kahveci pulled one back for Fenerbahçe after the break, but Galatasaray kept their rivals at bay to secure the win.
Osimhen’s double extended his unbeaten run against Fenerbahçe and helped Galatasaray maintain their place at the top of the Süper Lig.
