Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare could be on his way out of EFL Championship side Wolves this summer just one year after joining the club, Afrik-Foot reports.
The Nigerian striker’s future has remained uncertain since the end of last season, especially following Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League. The Old Gold finished bottom of the league standings and suffered the drop for the first time in eight years.
Arokodare arrived at Molineux with high expectations last summer after enjoying an outstanding 2024-25 campaign with KRC Genk. He finished as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer and also won the prestigious Ebony Shoe award.
However, his transition to English football was far from straightforward. The 25-year-old struggled to adapt to Wolves’ system and managed just three goals in 33 Premier League appearances, while he spent much of the second half of the season playing second fiddle to Adam Armstrong.

Following a disappointing campaign that ended in relegation, Wolves have since replaced Rob Edwards with Cesar Peixoto as they prepare for life in the Championship and that managerial change is expected to influence the club’s transfer decisions during the summer window.
Why Arokodare could leave Wolves this summer
Ordinarily, Wolves’ relegation alone would be enough to force the club into selling some players. The loss of Premier League revenue means they may need to raise funds to avoid breaching financial regulations, making player departures almost inevitable.
While that remains one reason Arokodare could leave, another factor may prove even more significant.
According to reports, former Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is set for a sensational return to Molineux this summer.

Jimenez enjoyed an impressive spell at Wolves between 2018 and 2023, making more than 150 appearances and scoring 57 goals. He is now in line for a return to the club, where he would be expected to play a leading role as Wolves bid to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
Once the Mexican complete his return after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Arokodare’s place in the squad could become even more uncertain.
The Nigerian was already behind Adam Armstrong in the pecking order for much of the second half of last season. Jimenez’s arrival would likely push him down to third-choice striker, making regular first-team opportunities even harder to come by.
That would not only limit his playing time but could also hurt his chances of forcing his way back into the Super Eagles squad. He was left out of the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament and has not featured for Eric Chelle’s side since November 2025.
Arokodare’s departure would also make sense from Wolves’ perspective and they could reinvest the funds to strengthen in other areas of the squad ahead of a demanding Championship campaign.

Several Turkish clubs including Galatasaray are exploring the possibility of a move for the Super Eagles forward this summer and he could soon be on his way to the Super Lig if an agreement is reached.
Arokodare, on the other hand, will be hoping to secure a move to a club where he can play regularly and revive his career after a difficult debut season in England.
