Super Eagles forward Yira Sor is facing an uncertain future at Belgian club Genk ahead of the summer transfer window, Afrik-Foot reports.
The 25-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Genk and speculation surrounding his future has resurfaced as the season approaches its end, with questions over where he could be playing next season.
Sor joined Genk in 2023 after impressing during his short spell at Czech side Slavia Prague. His performances quickly caught the attention of the former Belgian champions, who then moved to sign him.
This season, the Nigerian winger has made 41 appearances across all competitions for Genk, scoring six goals, including two in the Europa League before the club’s elimination in the Round of 16.

However, he has mostly been limited to substitute appearances and has seen his minutes reduced over the last few weeks, managing just 12 minutes across Genk’s last seven matches, which has fuelled speculation about a possible summer exit.
Yira Sor faces uncertain future at Genk ahead of transfer window
Super Eagles forward Yira Sor came close to leaving Genk during last summer’s transfer window, with clubs from the German Bundesliga and the French Ligue 1 reportedly interested in signing him. However, no deal materialized and he was forced to remain in Belgium for another season.
Heading into another transfer window, fresh reports have again linked the winger with a transfer and with his current contract set to run until 2027, it has been suggested that the Belgian side could consider selling him rather than risk losing him for free in the future.

Despite the rumours, a source close to the player has now revealed that there are currently no concrete offers on the table for the Nigerian international.
“From what I know, there is no offer for Yira Sor at the moment and the player still has a contract with Genk until 2027”, the source told Footy-Africa.
“The player has also refused to say if he has been privately contacted, but I know there are rumours here and there. Nothing concrete or formal has been made so far.
“During the last transfer window, a few clubs were looking at him and even when he suffered that long-term injury, some teams were still monitoring him. He has returned in good form now, so I believe they will come back for him. But as I am speaking to you, there has been no official contact.”
Although Yira Sor has been tipped to leave Genk, the winger could still remain at the club if no suitable offer arrives. The Belgian club may even consider offering him a contract extension beyond 2027 if they still view him as an important part of their plans heading into the coming season.
“The thing is, especially in football, anything can happen once the transfer window opens. With his contract situation, I think Genk may look to cash in on him, but they could also decide to offer him a new deal”, the source added.
“It is a win-win situation for Yira. But for now, based on your question, there is no concrete offer on the table at the moment.”

According to Transfermarkt, Yira Sor is currently valued at around €3 million and there could still be several twists in his future as the transfer window progresses.
Genk still have three matches left to play this season, starting with Saturday’s clash against Standard Liège and the winger will hope for opportunities to impress before the campaign ends, as those matches could play a major role in determining his future.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old will be hoping to earn a place in Eric Chelle’s squad for the upcoming Unity Cup tournament later in the month, after making his international debut for the Super Eagles during a 2-2 friendly draw with Jordan in March.
