Super Eagles winger Yira Sor has addressed growing speculation about his future at Genk amid transfer interest from other clubs ahead of the summer window, Afrik-Foot reports.
The one-cap Nigerian international has faced uncertainty over his long-term future, especially with his contract at the Belgian side set to expire at the end of the 2026–27 season, while he has continued to attract interest from clubs in Turkey and Germany in recent months.
Sor was previously linked with a possible departure last summer alongside compatriot Tolu Arokodare, who joined Premier League side Wolves, but a move did not materialize and forced the winger to remain in Belgium.

The 25-year-old joined Genk in the 2023 winter transfer window from Czech giants Slavia Prague and quickly became an important member of the squad. However, an injury during the 2024–25 season kept him sidelined for several months, limiting him to just 24 appearances across all competitions.
After returning from injury, Sor struggled to regain a regular starting role and was mostly used off the bench in the 2025-26 season. He made 42 appearances across all competitions, 15 of which were starts, and managed just six goals.
Yira Sor reveals focus amid Turkey and Germany links
While Genk are open to offering Yira Sor a new deal that could extend his stay as he prepares to enter the final year of his current contract, a possible departure is also not entirely ruled out especially if a suitable offer arrives.

However, the Super Eagles forward has revealed that his attention remains firmly on the club and not on a possible move elsewhere.
“Yes, I have heard about the rumours of a club in Turkey being interested in me, but the German club rumour is new to me. I have not heard anything like that”, Sor said via Footy-Africa.
“Right now, I do not bother about things like that because I am fully concentrating on what lies ahead for me here at Genk.
“Personally, I feel this is not the time for me or anyone within the team to think about transfers. We are all focused on the same thing, and we only have one goal. We have a game on the 31st of this month, and we are looking forward to it. Any discussion about a transfer is not what I am interested in right now, even though I have heard of interest from Turkey.”

With a possible extension at Genk on the cards, Yira Sor will now shift his attention to Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtues at the 2026 Unity Cup tournament.
The 25-year-old was a late addition to the Super Eagles squad by Eric Chelle following the withdrawal of teenage sensation Zadok Yohanna and is in contention to feature in their opening match of the tournament against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
