South Africa beat Mozambique 2-0 on Tuesday evening in an international friendly game that was played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane.
There was a massive improvement from the initial game against Taifa Stars of Tanzania, which ended goalless. Coach Hugo Broos missed some of his top players owing to the club engagements and personal issues.
On Tuesday, the Belgian saw his team get their goals courtesy of Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Ashley Cupido. He has since lauded the display by the playing unit, specifically the new call ups.
‘Kwayiba could have scored three goals’

“[Tuesday] was a very good performance, we had so many chances. First half, we could easily be 3-0 for us. There was good ball circulation, and much movement in the team. So yeah, I’m very happy with the game, the second half was also good,” he said during the post-match presser.
“We did some corrections, Kwayiba was much better second half than the first half, so yes I think we deserved the victory.
“He [Sinoxolo Kwayiba] could’ve scored three goals today, but okay, the chances were there, and the way they created the chances was very good. The way we pressed the opponent was also good, so I think yes, I can just look back to the two games and as a happy coach.”
‘No age when you are young and have quality'

Orlando Pirates youngsters Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Simphiwe Selepe, and Mohau Nkota were involved in the international break. They showed some glimpses of brilliance, which impressed the tactician.
“Yes, I think it was the moment to do it. When you are young and have quality, there is no age. For me, when I see they have quality, they get a chance, and there were some players that took their chance with both hands in the two games,” Broos continued.
“So, we will see now they make my job very difficult now when I have the choices in September the qualifiers for the World Cup, but okay, they are young and talented, so I’m very happy that I have such kind of players,” he concluded.
