Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has hit out at a PSL side for refusing his club’s plea to move their match given their CAF Champions League commitments.
Sundowns will face Malian side Stade Malien on Friday, March 13 and before that, they have a match against Golden Arrows on Wednesday after which they will not be engaged until the Champions League quarter-final tie.
However, immediately after, they will take on Orbit College as well as Marumo Gallants in the PSL before the return leg away to Stade Malien on March 22.

Miguel Cardoso criticises Orbit College
That saw Sundowns plead with Orbit College to bring forward their clash to ease fixture congestion before the Champions League matches but their PSL rivals would have none of it to the disappointment of Cardoso.
“We tried to push Orbit College that is on Tuesday, we playing Stade Malien on Friday,” Cardoso told the media.
“We asked Orbit to allow us to play the match before Saturday and Sunday and they don’t agree, they don’t want to help a team that is a South African representative and the only one in the CAFCL to have more chances to perform on that match,” added the Sundowns coach.
Cardoso feels the PSL and SAFA should be doing more to help South African teams that go deep into continental competitions like his side instead of making their work difficult with additional matches.

“I think that is something that PSL should and the football federation should understand what is better for South African football regarding how we represent ourselves in the international competition,” he added.
“And in between the two matches against Stade Malien, we gonna play again PSL so it’s the football we have. I am not complaining I just state the things, and I hope the players will give the answers that will be good so that we will be up to the challenges.”
Cardoso’s concerns come two weeks after Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef made a similar plea to the PSL when his side were still competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
