Kaizer Chiefs could be one of the PSL clubs set to miss out on striker Tshegofatso Mabasa after his camp reportedly received several offers including from an Albanian club.
Mabasa has become one of the most sought-after free agents in the market, with his representatives reportedly fielding as many as ten calls a day from interested clubs.
Known to fans as “Sniper,” Mabasa spent the latter half of his Pirates contract on loan at Stellenbosch FC. The move came after it became clear he was not part of coach Abdeslam Ouaddou’s future plans, despite his recognised talent.

Stellenbosch coach Gavin Hunt seized the opportunity to sign the former Bloemfontein Celtic forward, and his subsequent praise for Mabasa suggests it was a decision he did not regret.
With Orlando Pirates now having officially confirmed that the 29-year-old will not be returning to the Soweto giants, speculation about his next destination has intensified among football supporters. While his next club remains unknown, one thing is clear: Mabasa has no shortage of options.
According to Soccer Laduma, an offer has been tabled by an Albanian Premier League club. This adds to a growing list of admirers that reportedly includes Moroccan clubs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Libya’s Al Ittihad, AmaZulu FC, and Stellenbosch, among others.

Although the Albanian bid is unlikely to be accepted due to more lucrative proposals from other suitors, it highlights the widespread interest Mabasa’s availability has generated.
As a free agent with no transfer fee required, Mabasa is in a strong negotiating position, allowing him to carefully select the best offer that aligns with his career ambitions. With the transfer window yet to officially open, more clubs are expected to join the race for his signature.
Chiefs have been reported to be chasing the striker since January but no deal has materialised and it remains to be seen if they will win the race or lose out.
