Chiefs receive significant boost ahead of Polokwane City clash

Kaizer Chiefs have received a significant boost ahead of their upcoming Betway Premiership match against Polokwane City. 

Assistant coach Cedric Kaze, who addressed the media in place of head coach Nasreddine Nabi, confirmed that Paseka Mako and Ethan Chislett are fit and ready to play.

The news is a welcome development for Amakhosi, who are aiming to continue their winning momentum. The team started their season on a high note with a dominant 2-0 win over Stellenbosch FC. The victory demonstrated the team's potential and set a high standard for their first home game of the season.

The Soweto giants will face ‘Rise and Shine' at the FNB Stadium at 19:30 on Wednesday. With the availability of Mako and Chislett, the coaching staff will have a deeper pool of talent to choose from, increasing their chances of securing another victory and climbing up the league table.

“It’s our first home game in front of our fans and we know what we’ve been lacking last season, the consistency, which is why tomorrow’s game for us is very important,” said Kaze.

“We are very focussed, the players, the technical staff, the management – we know the importance of tomorrow’s game.

“Good thing, we didn’t have any injuries from last game or any suspension, and we’re going to have a couple players back.

“Mmodi is back from his suspension, Ethan is available for selection after his paper has been resolved. Mako as well, is available for selection after being cleared by the medical staff.

“I think that we are in a very good space for tomorrow.”
