Kaizer Chiefs versatile attacker Glody Lilepo has been urged to consider making peace with the national team's technical team to get a chance of featuring in the forthcoming international assignments.
The 27-year-old Democratic Republic of Congo citizen has had a good campaign at the Glamour Boys, a team he joined from a French second-tier outfit, Valenciennes. His five goals in the Premier Soccer League made him a joint top scorer at the club, alongside Wandile Duba, who played more games.

Lilepo last featured for the national team against Uganda during an international break in June 2023. In his last call-up, the towering attacker refused to travel after learning he didn't make the matchday squad.
However, an unnamed retired Congo international has urged Lilepo to consider shaking hands with coach Sebastien Desabre, since his return to the national team will develop him further.
Lilepo urged to stay away from the past controversy
“The boy needs to apologise for what he did; his behaviour wasn’t right because it showed that he is not a team player,” the former international said as quoted by Kick Off.
“If the coaches have selected the team, he needs to understand that it is their choice. When a player is dropped from the team it is for a reason that coaches don’t always need to explain. Now that his club career is back on line, he needs to stay away from the controversy of the past and apologise.

“It will only benefit his game if he rubs shoulders with Fiston Mayele, Yoane Wissa, Banza {Simon] and Essende [Samuel]. So, he should aim to sort out his issues and get to mix with all these guys now that he is at a club that stands to put him back into the national team. There was no need for him to act like a spoilt brat,” he concluded.
