Chiefs told they stand NO CHANCE in Soweto derby – ‘Pirates are best team in Mzansi’

Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are set for action on Saturday in the Soweto derby that will be staged at the FNB Stadium.

The Sea Robbers have been doing well this season domestically as opposed to the Glamour Boys. After winning MTN8 and the Carling Knockout, Bucs were tipped to secure the Nedbank Cup and the Premier Soccer League. However, it didn’t work out on the former though Abdeslam Ouaddou’s men have been tipped to deliver the league.

Ahead of the game, both teams didn’t have a good build-up as they lost their last two outings.

Pirates legend Innocent Maela believes the Buccaneers have quality and form that will see them get past their hosts. As a matter of fact, Pirates are hoping to register their fifth PSL win in a row agaisnt their traditional rivals. The only recent win for Amakhsoi was last year in the Nedbank Cup final.

Pirates to silence Chiefs?

“It’s a big game, a game that everyone is looking forward to in our country. But when you belong to a club like ours [Orlando Pirates], you know that you play these games, it happens regularly,” Maela told SuperSport.

“I’m confident that the gents, wherever they are, they are calm and composed. They know what they have to do, but we know that this season, Chiefs are our people, especially this season.

“Everyone knows that Orlando Pirates are currently the best team in the country. We know what to do. Yes, there will be nerves, some of the guys will be anxious. But we will go to the game having an edge over these guys,” Maela concluded.

A win for Pirates will open a three point gap between them and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns who will be in action on Sunday against Sekhukhune United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
