Kaizer Chiefs return to league action after one month as they look to close in on Mamelodi Sundowns and leaders Orlando Pirates when they play away to Chippa United.
Chiefs will play at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday night with an eye on three points that will see them move to within three points of leaders Orlando Pirates.
The Glamour Boys head into the match with 22 points from 11 games, six behind Pirates and three adrift of Pirates who have both played 12 matches, and have the chance to put pressure on the leading duo.

Chiefs are also keen to return to winning ways as their continental campaign has not got off to a great start after a 2-1 loss to Al Masry before they needed a stoppage time own goal to draw 1-1 with Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
That puts Chiefs under pressure to deliver a victory as they play a Chippa United team that is bottom of the table and last won on the opening day of the season before following it up with eight defeats and five draws.
Chiefs had beaten Durban City and Orbit College before the November international break after which continental assignments took centre stage and a return to that good form is badly needed.

Besides the fact that Chippa United have not won since September 16, they are also under their fourth coach this season yet the campaign is not yet halfway, adding another layer onto the chaos witnessed at the club this term.
Chippa have been frustrating Chiefs in their recent meetings with a goalless draw in May still fresh in the memories as it is what denied Amakhosi a place in the top eight this season although in their last 10 meetings, the Soweto giants have five wins, three to the Chilli Boys and two ending in 0-0 draws.
Team news
Kaizer Chiefs still have injury concerns heading into the match after attacker Gaston Sirino and defender Bradley Cross went out with problems against Zamalek while Glody Lilepo, Aden McCarthy, Rushwin Dortley and Fiacre Ntwari are already out injured.

What have they said?
Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons admits the game has come too soon after their exertions in the Confederation Cup but is counting on their quality to subdue Chippa.
“I’m looking forward to the Chippa game. Obviously, coming off a fair result in the CAF Confederation Cup, we want to refocus on the league,” said Solomons.
“We know what type of team Chippa is, and it won’t be an easy game away from home, but our intention is to pick up maximum points by making sure we execute what we have to do.

“Because of the short turnaround between games, we haven’t had much time to focus on Chippa, so sticking to our own processes will be crucial to getting a positive result.”
