Kaizer Chiefs’ defence of their DStv Diski Challenge title is faltering fast after their winless run extended to six games on Sunday.
Chiefs recorded a 1-1 draw with Magesi FC, their fourth straight stalemate, which leaves them nine points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after eight games.

The Glamour Boys went ahead first through Leshate Morwasi’s goal in the 47th minute but the two teams were level 12 minutes later.
A beautiful combination play from Magesi saw Lesedi Kgadima lay the ball in the path of Koketso Makgai, who was inside the box, and with Chiefs failing to clear the danger, the latter slotted home the equaliser.

Can Kaizer Chiefs arrest the slide?
There were no further goals as Chiefs, who had drawn three and lost two games before Sunday’s encounter, played out another draw which leaves them on 10 points from eight games, nine behind Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, who have 19 each.
Chiefs’ form has become a cause for worry as they do not look like the team that won the title with record points last season and coach Vela Khumalo, and his assistant Dillon Sheppard, who was in the dugout on Sunday, will have to quickly find a winning formula.

Meanwhile, Pirates saw their seven-match unbeaten run come to and end on Saturday when they lost 2-1 away to Polokwane City while Sundowns took advantage to move top of the table following a 3-2 victory over TS Galaxy.
Richards Bay, who are third on the log with 14 points, lost 5-4 to Chippa United in a thrilling contest on Saturday, as Golden Arrows beat Marumo Gallants 2-1 on the same day.
