Dillan Solomons gives update on his injury

Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons has given an update on his injury and when he could be back on the pitch.

The former Moroka Swallows defender has had long-term injury challenges at the club since the arrival of the new coach Nasreddine Nabi.

A shoulder injury sustained at the beginning of the season kept right-back on the sidelines for a period.

Upon recovering from this setback, he made his return to the pitch in a game against Royal AM. He got injured during the match.

Solomons revealed his frustration, as he viewed this match as a crucial opportunity to impress the coaching staff and secure a regular starting berth in the team.

Speaking with the media during the Nedbank Cup Last 16 draw on Monday, the 28-year-old Solomons said he now feels “strong and healthy”. He is hopeful of resuming his playing duties in the near future.

SOLOMONS ON INJURY CHALLENGES & WHEN HE COULD BE BACK

“I am doing well. Obviously, it's been a tricky time for me. I am in full training now and I am feeling good and healthy,” said

“It's just a bit of the match fitness that the coaches are worried about, but hopefully soon I will be back on the field.

“At the start of the season I was out with a shoulder injury and then coming back, it felt really good. And then getting that opportunity against Royal AM in Polokwane.

“I won't forget it because it was a game to try and put myself out there for the coaches and it didn't happen. The hamstring just went. It was frustrating, but I took it as a challenge and to get back was not easy.

“But I am ready now. I am strong and healthy and hopefully when I get back I can continue where I left off.”

This season Solomons has only played three matches across all competitions this season – two in the Betway Premiership and one in the Carling Knockout Cup.
