Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari has reportedly decided to leave the club after growing frustrated by his lack of game time.
Ntwari joined Chiefs with high hopes of becoming the club’s first-choice goalkeeper with many seeing him as the long-term replacement for club legend Itumeleng Khune.
The goalkeeper had impressed at TS Galaxy and looked like his dream would be realised when he started Chiefs’ five league games this season.
Rwanda goalkeeping is now third choice

However, he lost his place after the Glamour Boys’ 4-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns last November, having also made a number of blunders, with coach Nasreddine Nabi using an injury he sustained to make permanent changes in his position.
Brandon Petersen would replace him before Bruce Bvuma took over and the latter has not been dropped since.
That has left Ntwari at crossroads as he is not sure what to make of his Chiefs’ future, given he has a long-term contract at the club, but he is not being utilised with Nabi reportedly in the market for another goalkeeper.
Does Fiacre Ntwari have a future at Chiefs?

The development has left the Rwanda No.1 now ready to quit for more regular football elsewhere although there is a feeling among others that he should fight for his place.
“Chiefs is a big team, and the boy (Ntwari) knew going there that it won’t be easy. I’d say it’s frustration (that makes him consider leaving the club), but that doesn’t mean he has stopped working. And that doesn’t make him a bad player suddenly,” a source close to the 24-year-old told Soccer Laduma.
“He is being encouraged to fight for his place. He’s got a long-term contract with the club.”
Chiefs still have three more games before the end of the season and with speculation linking them to Chippa United’s Stanley Nwabali, Ntwari has a few weeks to decide if his future lies at Naturena or elsewhere.
