Free agent Percy Tau names his price for Chiefs, Pirates & Sundowns!

Bafana Bafana vice-captain Percy Tau is currently a free agent after his short deal with the Qatari outfit Qatar SC expired a couple of days ago.

The 31-year-old is now in the market for a new team and has now suggested he is open to making a return to the Premier Soccer League once he gets a good offer. Initially, Lion of Judah's former team Mamelodi Sundowns, and Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs had been linked with the South Africa international.

In his interview on Radio 94.7, he was asked by Robert Marawa about the possibility of playing for the Glamour Boys, suppose he was given an offer by the management, “I am Kaizer [Motaung], I at Naturena offer you R450,000 a month. Do you accept? You sign [for two years] with an option.”

‘I’m not ruling out anyone – Tau

“Perfect, yes,” Tau responded when asked about a possible, aforementioned, offer from the Glamour Boys.

“I will listen if there are offers, I’m not ruling out anyone. There’s a lot to take in, to consider, you have to consider age, how long the contract is, and then family. If that situation were to happen, I would pay attention to it, but there are still other clubs in the PSL. I mean, I played for Sundowns, so I cannot write them off. It’s a team that I played for, I won, and I’ve got so much love for the team and the fans. If Sundowns were not to offer me a contract and Chiefs do, then it won’t be my fault but theirs that I’ve gone to join Chiefs.

But I’ll listen to anybody, so let’s not rule out Orlando Pirates or even Stellenbosch FC, SuperSport United. I will not rule out anyone. My decision will be based on who gives me a contract because, at the end of the day, I still have to support my family.

“People might say that [I am expensive], but now that I’m here, I can speak up for myself, I’m very reasonable, so whenever I speak about my contract dealings, I’m not going to ask what I know you are not going to offer me,” Tau concluded.
