Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly unhappy with the attitude of playmaker Gaston Sirino whose behaviour has left a lot to be desired.
The attacker has shown great quality since signing for Chiefs as a free agent from Mamelodi Sundowns in the off-season but it appears away from the glares of the camera, he is not pulling his weight.
According to Soccer Laduma, Chiefs are unhappy with Sirino, who is claimed to be faking injuries and failing to turn up for training, only to show up when matchday approaches, to the frustration of coach Nasreddine Nabi and his team-mates.
Sirino already punished for his behaviour
The 33-year-old is reported to have faced disciplinary action already over his misdemeanours but he seems not to have gotten back to the straight and narrow, which is threatening to strain the relationship between the player and club.
Chiefs and Nabi expect a high level of professionalism from their players which they hope can lead to success in future but feel let down by the behaviour of the Uruguay-born star.
Sirino therefore risks losing his place in the team and eventually at the club as Chiefs might be forced to cut ties if he does not change.
Ex-Downs star has delivered on the pitch
The player has so far delivered on the pitch with two goals and four assists in eight games but his performances on the turf and behaviour off it must align for the club to reap maximum benefits.
A clever player, who can either play on the wing or in the No10 role, Sirino has been the main creative force for Chiefs this season and the team look threatening with him in the side whenever he is called upon by Nabi.
Chiefs face Polokwane City in their next league game on Sunday December 8 and Sirino is among players they will be relying on for goals and assists.
