Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze is delighted that his players are finally giving him a selection headache.

Chiefs turned on the style on Tuesday night when they beat Orbit College 4-1 with Mduduzi Shabalala scoring twice while setting up the other goals for Mfundo Vilakazi and Flavido da Silva.

It was a game in which new signing Asanele Velebayi got his first start while Thabiso Monyane impressed at right-back as Etiosa Ighodaro started in attack.

Kaizer Chiefs celebrate

With a number of players returning from injury, Kaze will have a hard time selecting his starting XI and it is a challenge he is relishing at Naturena.

“It’s a good thing for us,” Kaze told SuperSport regarding the depth in his squad.

“It’s going to be a good headache as well to get the line-up but it’s a good problem to have and it’s going to make even the training and the competitiveness of the training is going to head up the level of everyone.”

The other thing that delighted the Chiefs coach is that finally, they converted their chances after missing a number of them in past matches.

What else has delighted Cedric Kaze?

Kaizer Chiefs players celebrate a goal against Orbit College.

Chiefs should have been out of sight by halftime as they created loads of opportunities but wasted them for a 1-0 lead at the break. However, they upped the ante after the break with three more goals and for Kaze, long may it continue.

“We have been having very good performances without converting the chances that we got and it was very important to start very well and we started very well with a very good mentality and as I said two weeks ago, if the performances are consistent, the goals are going to come and we’re glad we scored four today and we got the three points,” he added.

Chiefs moved level on 22 points with PSL leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and will be hoping to maintain the same form when they take on Magesi FC in their next match.
