How Kaizer Chiefs helped Kaze to win the Limpopo derby

Sekhukhune United recovered from their midweek loss against Kaizer Chiefs to beat Polokwane City in the Limpopo derby last weekend.

First-half goals from Tshepo Mokoane and Mpho Rammala were enough for Babina Noko to beat Rise and Shine 2-0 which took them to fourth on the table with six points from three games.

Rise and Shine remained on four points following their defeat, coupled with the initial win and draw.

Immediate former Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has now explained how the defeat to the Glamour Boys at the FNB Stadium helped them secure maximum points in the Premier Soccer League last weekend.

“Yeah, it’s the kind of reaction that we were waiting for and as well it’s a derby and it’s a good way to react and to get back to the winning side of the league. The difference was in the attitude, in the belief that we wanted to do something,” Kaze stated as quoted by SABC Sport.

“I thought that in the game in the midweek we gave too much space, too much respect to the opponent and we didn’t play our game and press them and play with the belief that we can make things happen. That was the difference.

“You know, in the second half, they came with a lot of long balls, a lot of direct play but I think we got opportunities as well to score and we didn’t concede a lot of opportunities to the opponent.

“And I believe that it’s a game where we could have scored more than two but we will take the two points and build from that,” the Burundian concluded.
