Kaizer Chiefs‘ technical team has been dealt a blow with more injuries in the defensive department.
Before the season started, the Glamour Boys suffered set-backs on Bradley Cross and Paseka Mako. The former was part of the Bafana Bafana team that reached the Round of 32 in the concluded 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The duo joined Nkanyisa Shinga, who has struggled to make an impact at the Glamour Boys at the beginning of last season. The versatile left-back made a couple of appearances before being sent to the medical room.
Reeve Frosler has been played out of position as a left-back in the club’s three outings. But he has also been injured alongside youngster Kabelo Nkgwesa, who is one of the talented players in the squad.
Bad news for Amakhosi
Coach Fernando Da Cruz confirmed the blow as the club continue to prepare for the next assignment against Richards Bay in the Premier Soccer League fixture on Wednesday, August 26.

“Our left-backs are all injured. Between the match against Sekhukhune on Wednesday and [Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday], we lost Reeve and Kabelo,” he opened up in a presser.
Under Da Cruz, the Soweto giants have played four competitive games across all competitions. They started with a 3-1 win over Kruger United before a shocking 1-0 defeat to Golden Eagles in the MTN8 quarter-final.

The 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United was massive for the Soweto giants before another South African top-tier 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend at the FNB Stadium.
