Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo delves into Lorch snub by Bafana Bafana’s Broos

Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo is the latest football stakeholder to comment on the Hugo Broos-Thembinkosi Lorch saga.

The veteran Belgian tactician opted against including the 32-year-old Wydad Athletic Club in his squad that will play Zambia on Saturday in an international friendly game to be staged at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

A section of some supporters feel it was okay for Broos to leave the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates attacker out of his team despite scoring five goals in the nine matches played for the Botola Pro League outfit in the ongoing campaign.

However, others, like Doctor Khumalo, feel it wasn't good to exclude Nyoso since he has what it takes to deliver for the national team.

Lorch would have come in handy for Bafana Bafana

“Lorch it’s questionable, looking at him let’s be honest. He might have gone through a lot of hiccups in his career but here he is outside South Africa, everybody is raving about him,” he told the DNA Podcast.

“I would’ve expected a call-up for this game, just to see. This wouldn’t be the first call-up for the national team.

“Based on the performance and experience that he has gained playing against the big teams. I think he would’ve come in handy for us.

“If that team were using him with the kind of attitude they have if you’re a coach you can’t deliver you are gone, if you are a player, you can’t deliver you are gone but I am looking at the clips everybody is celebrating him.

“We are not saying because they embrace him, he has to be in the squad, but the game is the teacher,” Khumalo concluded.
