Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi has identified Glody Lilepo and Flavio Da Silva as the players who will likely make a difference in the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on Sunday.

“[Glody] Lilepo and [Flavio] Da Silva’s confidence can work on Sunday. They have arrogance,” Baloyi told FARPost.

“It doesn’t matter even when they have been getting criticism, but when they go on the field, one thing is for sure: they give their all. They are not afraid of making mistakes.

“Those two guys can hurt Pirates. Don’t be fooled by the fact that they didn’t do much in that other derby.”

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker could write a piece of history next week when TS Galaxy face Durban City in the Nedbank Cup final.

Parker was installed as interim coach of TS Galaxy following the sacking of Adnan Beganovic on Thursday and he will likely be in charge when the Rockets face Durban City in the final on Saturday, May 2.

If he guides Galaxy to the trophy, Parker will become the first man to win the Nedbank Cup both as player and a head coach since it was first played in its current format in 2008.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka believes Kaizer Chiefs hold the keys to where the PSL title will end up given they are set to play both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, who are separated by just one point.

“Right now, Chiefs is holding, deciding, can decide where the league ends up,” he said on The Pitchside Podcast.

“They still need to play Sundowns as well, so depending on how that game goes, but I think Sundowns have the upper hand.”
