Kaizer Chiefs had good preparations for the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.
In coach Nasreddine Nabi’s debut season, the Glamour Boys ended their decade-long trophy drought by securing the Nedbank Cup after beating traditional rivals Orlando Pirates in the final.
However, they disappointed in the PSL, where they finished ninth, just a position higher than the previous edition.
The Tunisian was hoping to continue as the club’s man man, but he was dismissed just six matches into the new campaign.

On Sunday, March 15, Kaizer Chiefs ended their four-match winless run in all competitions with a victory over Durban City at the FNB Stadium. The Glamour Boys needed a victory to boost their chances of qualifying for the CAF inter-club competition.
However, it was not going to be an easy fixture considering the fact that the Citizens also needed a win to boost their top-three chances. It was also another opportunity for the visitors to avenge the initial 1-0 loss when the teams met in the initial fixture.
Nevertheless, Amakhosi managed to deliver the three points as Glody Lilepo beautifuly guided the ball past the goalkeeper after a pass from Mfundo Vilakazi who has been doing well.
Eyes will now be at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban where the Soweto giants will play Magesi on Saturday, March 21.
