Kaizer Chiefs might have received a major boost in their bid to add a striker to their squad after one of their targets expressed a desire to leave his current club.
Chiefs are looking for attacking reinforcements after their strikers hugely disappointed last season with neither Ashley Du Preez, departed Ranga Chivaviro nor January signing Tashreeq Morris scoring even five goals each as Amakhosi finished ninth in the league.
Tanzanian forward Clement Mzize, who plays for Yanga, has emerged as a key target and he is among players who coach Nasreddine Nabi and his assistant Cedric Kaze reportedly looked at during their recent visit to the East African country.
Mzize had an impressive season with Yanga

Mzize played a key role as Yanga pipped Fadlu Davids’ Simba SC to the league title, ending the season with 14 goals and five assists, including one and an assist as his club beat their bitter rivals 2-0 on Wednesday to seal a fourth straight crown.
The player has now expressed a need for a fresh challenge, signaling an intention to leave Yanga, which could put Chiefs on alert as at 21, he represents most of what the Glamour Boys are looking for.
“I've had a great season – winning the Premier League crown and scoring in the derby,” Mzize told the Guardian as quoted by KickOff.
What has the forward said about his future?

“It's an immense feeling, and I’m grateful to be here. It’s true that I’ve received offers, but as a player, I can’t disclose them.
“Of course, I want to explore new opportunities to grow my career. I’ve had wonderful moments at Young Africans, and as I’ve mentioned, I’m still under contract. So, everything will be handled through my management, and we’ll see what happens next.”
Chiefs are, however, not the only club interested in Mzize as he has also attracted interest from North African sides with CAF Champions League winners Pyramids keen to sign him.
