Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Thembinkosi Lorch, the next Amakhosi signing?

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs are still in the market in their bid to have a competitive squad to deliver domestically and abroad.

Flavio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya, Indonesia), Ethan Chislett (Port Vale, England), Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverce, Portugal), Paseka Mako (Orlando Pirates), Thabiso Monyane (Orlando Pirates), and Siphesihle Ndlovu (SuperSport United) are the players who have been signed by Amakhosi.

However, Afrik-Foot understands coach Nasreddine Nabi and the Glamour Boys' management are still working on getting players that can improve the current squad, and make it stronger.

One of the players who might be valuable to the Soweto giants is Thembinkosi Lorch whose future at Mamelodi Sundowns is uncertain. Coach Miguel Cardoso is not keen on using the 32-year-old in the 2025/26 campaign.

Chiefs urged to consider Lorch

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Dominic Isaacs believes the ex-Orlando Pirates attacker might be what the Glamour Boys need especially in the attacking and creative departments.

I can say ‘go for him'. He could be a good signing for Kaizer Chiefs. His experience and the way he plays could bring a different dimension to the Chiefs' midfield. [Ox] Mthethwa and [Thabo] Cele could sit back and block the attack, while Lorch would attack and create those chances and score goals as well. I think he can fit very well at Chiefs,” he said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“This could be a new challenge for him. He could be looking at a team and place where he could be happy, appreciated, and play. Going to Chiefs could be a good move for him. As long as he is in his right mind, a move to Kaizer Chiefs would not be bad at all,” he concluded.

Wydad Athletic Club were interested in the attacker but speculations have it that they pulled out owing to high fee asked by Masandawana.
