Kaizer Chiefs Transfers: Dzenan Zajmovic responds to Amakhosi links

Former TS Galaxy striker Dzenan Zajmovic has weighed in on the speculation linking him to Kaizer Chiefs.

Zajmovic played a key part in Galaxy’s run to fifth place in the PSL last season as he scored seven league goals in 25 matches, 11 across all competitions, but was surprisingly released by the club at the end of the campaign.

With the forward now a free agent, he has been linked to clubs in South Africa and abroad and Chiefs, who are in the market for a new striker, are among those credited with an interest in him.

Zajmovic was put on the spot regarding the Chiefs links when he was asked if he would consider a transfer to Naturena if he received the call.

Ex-Galaxy striker comments on Amakhosi interest

“If you get a call from Kaizer Jr from Kaizer Chiefs and he says we want you to play for us what is your reaction to the call?” Zajmovic was asked on SoccerBeat.

He offered a vague response that left a lot to the imagination. “A lot of people are watching, I cannot say. It is not difficult to get the answer,” he said.

The striker then went into details over why it would be great to play for a bigger team which points to a desire to join a giant club.

Is Zajmovic sending come get me plea to Chiefs?

“It is easy when you play for a better team, let us say the top three, it is much easier for the no.9 because you get more chances but when you play for a club like TS Galaxy, maybe you have one chance in a game, maybe not even one,” added Zajmovic.

“But if you play for a bigger team sometimes you have four, five chances and it is way, way easier because I also watch Sundowns and sometimes, they win 4-0, 5-0.”

Chiefs have so far signed one striker in Portuguese Flavio Silva while they are also heavily linked with Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro of Mamelodi Sundowns.
