Congolese midfielder Karim Kimvuidi’s future has become the topic of speculation after he was seen playing for an Israeli club on Sunday with no news over when he left Orlando Pirates.
Kimvuidi joined Pirates in July 2023 from Maritzburg United but has been a bit-part player with the Buccaneers during his two-year stay at the club.
Last season, the 23-year-old made 15 appearances in all competitions, including eight in the PSL, as he had fallen down the pecking order under former coach Jose Riveiro.
There has not been news over his future but on Sunday, he turned out for Israel top flight side Ashdod SC, making his debut for the club.
Pirates have remained mum on Kimvuidi’s future
Kimvuidi played 90 minutes as Ashdod lost 2-0 away to Hapoel Tel Aviv but Pirates are yet to reveal under what circumstances he left the club.
Pirates have so far announced the departures of Innocent Maela (retired), Paseka Mako (released), Thabiso Monyane (released), Miguel Timm (released), Monnapule Saleng (Orbit College, loan), Philip Ndlondlo (released), Mohau Nkota (Ettifaq, Saudi), Thuso Moleleki, Yanga Mabele (Orbit College, both loan), Zakhele Lepasa (released), Azola Tshobeni (Chippa United), Abdoulaye Mariko (Chippa United, loan), Goodman Mosele (Chippa United, loan).
It is therefore not known if Kimvuidi is out on loan or permanently and speculation is set to continue until the club breaks its silence over the matter. Overall, Kimvuidi has made 37 appearances for Pirates, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
