Kaze explains what Kaizer Chiefs must fix after second straight win

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze identified numerous positive takeaways from his team’s 2-0 victory against Magesi FC on Saturday evening.

The win propelled the Amakhosi from fifth to fourth place on the league table, keeping their ambitions of a top-three finish alive as the season nears its conclusion.

Goals in each half from Wandile Duba and substitute Mfundo Vilakazi sealed a second consecutive win for the Soweto giants in Durban.

“It’s a good three points because it’s never easy to play against a team that is fighting to stay in the Premier League,” Kaze told SuperSport TV. “I would say there were a lot of positives, but I believe we could’ve controlled the game better and probably scored more goals. But I will take the three points today and the two goals as well.”

Kaze noted that while the team’s attacking intent was clear, their execution in the final third could have been sharper.

“It’s true that especially in the first half, we were getting the right mindset to go forward and making the right runs too,” he explained. “But I feel like when we got into the box, there was a little bit of adversity and precipitation in making that pass or shot. But I believe where we are coming from and where we are, I’m pretty sure it can only get better.”

The coach also highlighted the importance of players like Duba, who has had limited game time, stepping up late in the season as the club aims for a strong finish.

“It’s very important. A player like Wandile Duba didn’t get a lot of playing time, and this is going to give him enough confidence to go forward,” Kaze said.

“As well, it’s a good thing that there are players that are coming along into this end of the season because we’re going to need everyone to finish strong,” he concluded.
