Bafana Bafana forward Mohau Nkota is reportedly on a bumper pay at Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq.
Nkota made a big-money move from Orlando Pirates in the summer transfer window after just one season with the senior team at the Soweto giants but has proven to be a revelation for both club and country.
The 20-year-old has one goal and two assists in five matches across all competitions, having scored on his Al-Ettifaq debut in August, and is now a key member of the squad since his signing.
Nkota’s move has been revealed to be a high-paying one as the winger is reported to be earning over R20 million per year at Al-Ettifaq.
How much does Nkota earn at Al-Ettifaq?
As per Capology, a website that provides details about player salaries and club finances, Nkota is on €19,615 (R396,000) per week with his annual pay pegged at €1,020,000 (R20.5 million).
What is more, there is no taxation in Saudi Arabia which means Nkota pockets the entire pay without the high deductions experienced in other countries.
Nkota’s elevation from the PSL to the Saudi Pro League has turned a focus on his former team-mate Relebohile Mofokeng, who has been linked to clubs abroad in the last one year but still stayed at Pirates.

There were even reports that Al-Ettifaq were keen to unite him with Nkota at the club but the rumours did not materialise into a deal.
The winger was promoted to the senior team from Pirates’ Diski Challenge side by former coach Jose Riveiro last season and he went on to play 39 matches in all competitions, scoring seven goals while providing five assists.
Nkota is among players who made it to Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda this month and his club has a tough match against Saudi giants Al-Hilal after the international break.
