Pitso Mosimane discloses what makes Kaizer Chiefs star Gaston Sirino special

Kaizer Chiefs winger Gaston Sirino continues to receive praise following his blistering start to life at Naturena.

The Uruguayan-born attacker has been key to Chiefs’ good start this season having joined in the off-season as a free agent after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns where he spent six-and-a-half-years.

Sirino has bagged two goals and provided three assists in four games and was at his brilliant best at the weekend when he scored and assisted as Chiefs thrashed SuperSport United 4-0 in the Carling Knockout Round of 16.

His former coach Pitso Mosimane, who signed him for Sundowns from Club Bolivar in January 2018, is among those impressed that he is still producing man of the match performances at 33, hailing his quality and attitude as top class.

“Class is permanent. Top talent, loves training, has a lot of passion for the game and is opinionated. A bit emotional but manageable. A South American player,” Mosimane said of Sirino through a social media post.

“He scores goals and has lots of assists, a very crucial ingredient in an attacking player.”

The winger has received praise from coach Nabi

Chiefs have won three of their four games so far with Sirino central to their victories and has also helped coach Nasreddine Nabi implement his attacking philosophy, the tactician lauding him not just for raising the levels of performances but also setting a great example to youngsters at the club.

“We can promise that if Sirino gets back his full fitness, you will see more from him, and we think that the younger players can learn a lot from him,” Nabi said after Saturday’s match.
