Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has offered a defence of striker Tashreeq Morris in the wake of the team’s 4-1 defeat to SuperSport United in Tuesday’s Betway Premiership fixture at FNB Stadium.
Post-match, Nabi was requested to provide an assessment of Morris, a recent acquisition from SuperSport United who has yet to score for his new club.
In response, Nabi argued that a single match is insufficient to accurately assess Morris’s overall capabilities.
He expressed his view that, notwithstanding the absence of goals, the striker’s work rate is contributing positively to the team's performance.

NABI ON TASHREEQ MORRIS’ EFFORTS
“Today's game was an exception and we cannot evaluate players on one game, Nabi said, via a translator, when asked if the former Matsatsantsa man had so far met his demands.
“We have to evaluate players on the many games that they play. Today's team was very tired.
“It's an exceptional game, but as I said, we cannot evaluate players just on this game. This game should not be used as a reference.
“In the previous game, Tashreed gave his all, he gave all his energy and you could see today that it has impacted his physical strength.”
