Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Sipho Mbule has been unveiled as the latest signing by Iraqi top-flight side Zakho SC ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Buccaneers opted against renewing the 28-year-old’s contract following the end of the 2025/26 campaign, making him a free agent. On Saturday, Mbule broke his silence on his departure, posting a heartfelt farewell to the Pirates faithful on social media before his new club confirmed the deal.

Zakho SC announced the arrival of the Bafana Bafana international on their official Facebook page, expressing excitement about the quality he brings to their midfield. The club praised Mbule’s pace and intelligence, stating that he has the ability to control the tempo of a match and that his arrival would strengthen their engine room significantly.

Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Fees Moloi has made a bold declaration, revealing that if he were a young player today, he would choose to play for Orlando Pirates over any other club in the country.

Speaking to KickOff, Moloi explained that the pace at which the Buccaneers play their football is what appeals to him most.

The former Amakhosi attacker did not hesitate when asked which PSL club he would pick, naming Pirates without any doubt.

Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi has opened up about the moment he had to raise his voice in the dressing room during the side’s Betway Premiership title chase last season.

The incident came during a league match against Richards Bay in April 2026, when the Buccaneers found themselves trailing at half-time after defender Lebone Seema’s attempted clearance went wrong, allowing Thulani Gumede to give the hosts the lead.

In changing room footage shown on the SuperSport documentary #BucsCamp Part 3, Sibisi was seen storming into the dressing room at the break and urging his teammates to stay composed rather than panic about the deficit.

The Bafana Bafana international explained that he felt the team was playing as though they were losing by a wide margin rather than a single goal. He noted that Pirates were rushing their attacks, sending crosses into the box where Yanela Mbuthuma was outnumbered, rather than keeping possession and being patient.
