Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfield maestro Teboho Mokoena has reportedly attracted official bids from two clubs in the Saudi Professional League.
According to Soccer Laduma, the offers have been submitted as interest intensifies in securing the player’s services. Mokoena is currently on international duty with Bafana Bafana at the 2026 World Cup.
The two clubs reportedly showing serious interest are Al-Taawoun and Al-Ettifaq. Al-Taawoun, in particular, are said to be aggressively pursuing Mokoena to anchor their midfield, viewing him as a direct replacement for the departing Brazilian midfielder, Flavio Da Silva.

Sundowns midfielder keen to play abroad
This development follows recent remarks from Mokoena’s agent, Lance Davids, during an appearance on Robert Marawa’s MSW show.
Davids confirmed that while Mokoena is content at Sundowns, he holds a strong ambition to play abroad. The agent noted that the 29-year-old feels he has achieved everything possible for a player in South Africa and is ready for a new challenge at a competitive club.
Mokoena has been a pivotal figure in Mamelodi Sundowns’ recent domestic triumphs and was a key part of the squad that recently secured the club’s second CAF Champions League title.

Mokoena valued highly by PSL giants
The midfielder has been at Sundowns since 2022 and won three league titles as well as the CAF Champions League, making 180 appearances, scoring 19 goals, providing 14 assists, and remains one of the most important players for the club.
However, luring him from Chloorkop will not be easy given how highly Sundowns value him while he still has a contract at the club until 2029.
