South African forward Thembinkosi Lorch continues to impress at Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club after a goal and assist in their victory on Friday.
Lorch, who signed a permanent deal with the Moroccan giants ahead of this season, after a six-month loan spell, was at the centre of Wydad’s 3-1 win over CODM Meknes on Friday.
In what was his third straight start of the season, Lorch’s impact was felt after just five minutes as he created Wydad’s first goal, setting up Joseph Bakasu to break the deadlock.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns star then got himself on the scoresheet in some style. Following a swift move started with Noordin Amrabat, Lorch connected well with a cross, firing a stunning strike into the top left corner in the 35th minute.
Where does victory leave Wydad?
Meknes would reduce the arrears four minutes later through Adnane Berdad with the game heading to halftime with the visitors leading 2-1.

Wydad would huff and puff in the second half until the 80th minute when Hamza Hannouri scored the third goal to walk away with all three points for their third win in four games which sends them top of the table.
Lorch has now scored two goals and provided one assist in four matches for Wydad, having also netted against El-Mansour last month.
Wydad have started the season with three wins and a draw which sees them occupy top spot with 10 points and will hope to stay there as they look to challenge for the title after a third-place finish last season.
