Thembinkosi Lorch wanted by big-spending North African club

Thembinkosi Lorch has reportedly become a key target for Libyan side Al-Ittihad who want to entice him with a big-money offer from Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.

Lorch is marking one year since joining Wydad, having signed initially on a six-month loan from Mamelodi Sundowns last January, before making the move permanent at the end of the season.

Since then, he has lit it up in Morocco, scoring five goals and weighing in with four assists in 11 games in the first half of the season.

That has attracted the interest of Al-Ittihad and according to iDiski Times, the Libyan club is ready to give him and his club an irresistible offer to sign him this month.

The outlet further reports that Wydad would be ready to cash in on Lorch as his departure would free up space in the team and the wage bill to allow for new signings who would then not have a lot of competition for game time.

Wydad are reportedly close to signing Bolivian Moises Paniagua and former Sevilla forward Wissam Ben Yedder while ex-Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech is looking forward to making his debut for the club in the second part of the season.

Al-Ittihad have shown great ambition in the last one year, having signed former Kaizer Chiefs defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe for a reported R15 million last January while they brought in Togolese Yawo Agbagno and Mahmoud Kahraba for a combined R20 million.

Lorch, a former Orlando Pirates player, has made a total of 28 appearances for Wydad, scored eight goals and added four assists.
