Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman could return to England in summer according reports in the Italian media.
The reports indicate that the Nigerian striker has struggled to adapt to life in Italy, citing significant cultural disparities compared to his previous experiences in Germany and England. Nonetheless, this challenge did not hinder his impressive performance on the field.
Lookman has also been involved in 14 goals in the league for Atalanta this season, scoring eight and creating six in 26 games this term.
Over the weekend, he was involved in Atalanta's two goals, providing the assists for the goals netted by Charles De Ketelaere and El Bilal Touré.
Lookman currently leads Atalanta as the top assister in Serie A this season, with six assists in twenty-six appearances, a distinction he shares with Charles De Ketelaere.
Lookman joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 in a deal worth €10 million and has been consistent for La Dea, scoring 24 goals and providing another 14 assists in 68 games, marking his best career output in Italy.
With two years remaining on his contract, Atalanta might capitalise on this opportunity and sell him.
If the reports from TuttoAtlanta about the 26-year-old seeking a possible return to England are accurate, Lookman could soon be linked with English clubs in the coming weeks.
Ademola Lookman's journey through English football
Born in Wansworth, Greater London, Lookman began his football journey at Charlton Athletic's Academy, where he honed his skills with the U-18 and U-21 teams.
His impressive goal-scoring record quickly propelled him through the academy ranks, earning him a first-team debut for the Addicks on 3 November 2015. Lookman wasted no time making an impact, scoring his debut goal in a 3–2 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on 5 December 2015.
He followed up with a brace against Bolton Wanderers just ten days later. In total, he notched 10 goals in 45 appearances for Charlton Athletic.

In 2017, he made the move to Everton, where he made 36 appearances and scored one goal. Seeking more playing time, he embarked on loan spells, first with Fulham in the 2020/21 season from RB Leipzig, where he impressed with four goals in 34 games.
For the 2021/22 season, Lookman joined Leicester City on loan, where he continued to showcase his talent, scoring six goals in 26 appearances for the Foxes.
How Ademola Lookman fared in Germany
In a bid to secure more playing time, Lookman was loaned out by Everton and instead joined Bundesliga club RB Leipzig until the end of the 2017–18 season.
During his loan spell, he made an immediate impact, scoring five goals in just 11 games for the German outfit. Such stellar performances led to hmi signing a permanent five-year deal with the club.

However, his form took a dip after securing the permanent move, as he struggled to find the back of the net in 11 subsequent appearances.
As a result, Lookman was sent out on loan to Fulham and later to Leicester City.
