Super Eagles legend Uche Okechukwu has backed Ademola Lookman for a high-profile move within Serie A, describing Napoli and Juventus as “perfect projects” for the Atalanta star and expressing confidence in his ability to thrive at either club.
Lookman, who is under contract with the Bergamo-based club until June 2027, could reportedly leave the Gewiss Stadium this summer, amid growing interest from several elite European sides ahead of the new football season.
Okechukwu, who enjoyed a distinguished playing career in Europe, believes Lookman’s blend of pace, strength, and team-oriented play would make him a valuable asset at either club.

He also highlighted the player’s familiarity with Italian football as a key advantage, insisting that a switch to a bigger Serie A side would be a natural next step for the Europa League hero.
Okechukwu backs Ademola Lookman for Napoli or Juventus move
In an interview with Africafoot, Okechukwu expressed strong support for Lookman’s potential move to one of Serie A’s traditional powerhouses, describing Napoli and Juventus as ideal destinations for the Atalanta star.
“I don't want to be definitive, because for now, we only have information from the media and tabloids. But if he were to join Napoli or Juventus, I'm convinced he would still shine thanks to the nature of football there. He's a top-level striker, and it's no coincidence that he's been linked with the best teams in Europe,” Okechukwu said.

He further praised Lookman's qualities, stating: “Napoli and Juventus are perfect projects for Lookman, as he has been in Italy for quite some time. They are two of the biggest Italian teams with huge ambitions, both domestically and in Europe. He is a team player, strong, fast, and a goalscorer within himself. So I don't see why he wouldn't make a good impression at either team.”
Lookman joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in August 2022 and has since made 118 appearances, scoring 52 goals and providing 20 assists.
In addition to reported interest from Napoli and Juventus, the 27-year-old has also been linked with Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United and La Liga giants Barcelona.
