Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare has enjoyed an impressive start to life in the Eredivisie and has been ranked among Ajax’s most valuable players in 2026.
Arokodare joined Ajax from English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer on a season-long loan deal. However, the Nigerian striker has wasted little time making an impact with his performances this season.
The 25-year-old endured a difficult spell at Wolves but is gradually rediscovering the form that once made him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.
Since joining Ajax, Arokodare has scored nine goals and provided three assists across all competitions, including five goals in the Eredivisie. His performances have made him an important attacking option for the Dutch giants and strengthened his standing as one of the club’s most valuable players.

His impressive form has also been reflected in his market valuation, with the Nigerian forward now valued at €22 million, representing a significant boost for the striker as he looks to build on his performances and help Ajax enjoy a successful campaign.
Ajax’s most valuable players: Arokodare’s rank revealed
Arokodare’s €22 million market valuation places him joint-top among Ajax’s most valuable players, alongside Ivorian winger Simon Adingra, who also carries the same valuation.
The Nigerian forward’s valuation also places him among the most valuable players in the Eredivisie, ranking joint-fifth in the Dutch top flight.
His standing is another indication of how quickly his fortunes have improved following his move from Wolves. Having struggled to make the desired impact in England, Arokodare is now rebuilding his reputation in the Netherlands and showing why Ajax were interested in bringing him to the club.
The former Genk striker also ranks fifth among Nigerian players by market value, behind Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Calvin Bassey and Zadok Yohanna.

Arokodare eyeing permanent Ajax stay
Arokodare’s loan deal at Ajax will expire at the end of the season, but his impressive performances have raised the possibility of a permanent move to the Dutch club.
The Nigerian striker is open to staying in Amsterdam as he looks to maintain his current form and continue his development. His strong start has also given Ajax a reason to consider keeping him beyond the current campaign.

However, securing his services permanently could prove challenging. Wolves have inserted a buy option worth around €20 million for the striker, while Ajax must decide whether to meet that valuation and make the move permanent.
The Super Eagles striker’s performances over the remainder of the season could also prove decisive.
