Iwobi and Bassey feature as Fulham crash to Everton

Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey endured a tough outing as Fulham fell 3-1 to Everton at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Super Eagles duo started for Fulham but couldn’t prevent their side from losing to a lively Everton team.

Raul Jimenez opened the scoring in the 17th minute, finishing off a move set up by Emile Smith-Rowe, as Fulham took early control of the game.

However, they couldn’t hold the lead until the break, with Everton pulling level just before half-time.

Vitaliy Mykolenko then slotted home from an Abdoulaye Doucouré assist to make it 1-1 just before half-time.

Everton turned the game around in the second half, taking the lead in the 70th minute through Michael Keane.

Things went from bad to worse for Fulham when Beto added a third for the visitors, completing a comeback win over Iwobi and Bassey’s side.

Alex Iwobi played the full 90 minutes for Fulham but couldn’t add to his goals or assists for the season.

He made three key passes, had one shot on target, one off target, and saw another blocked. Iwobi impressed with his distribution, completing 50 of 58 passes for an 86% accuracy rate.

The Nigerian was also sharp in possession, completing three of his four dribble attempts.

While he didn’t contest any aerial duels, he was solid on the ground, winning seven of the ten duels he was involved in.

Super Eagles Calvin Bassey also played the entire match but couldn’t help Fulham avoid conceding three goals. Defensively, he made five clearances, one interception, and one tackle.

In duels, Bassey won one of his two aerial challenges and two out of three ground duels.
