Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi was introduced off the bench as Fulham concluded their Premier League season with a 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester City at Craven Cottage.
Ilkay Gündogan opened the scoring for the visitors in the 21st minute, with Erling Haaland doubling Manchester City’s lead from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute. The victory secured a third-place finish for City and confirmed their qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Despite Iwobi’s second-half introduction, Fulham were unable to overturn the visitors’ dominance, with Calvin Bassey notably left on the bench for the match.

With this defeat, Marco Silva’s side concluded their Premier League campaign in 12th place on the table, finishing with 54 points after a promising start to the season.
Iwobi’s impact mixed in second-half cameo against Man City
Coming on for Harry Wilson in the 61st minute, Alex Iwobi showed glimpses of promise but couldn’t significantly influence Fulham’s fortunes.
While he maintained a strong passing accuracy of 92% (22/24 passes completed) and succeeded in two of three dribble attempts, Iwobi struggled to make a meaningful attacking impact with no shots on or off target and one blocked shot.
Defensively, he won half of his ground duels (3/6), made one interception, and completed one tackle.

However, he also lost possession five times, reflecting some difficulties in maintaining control under pressure. Overall, Iwobi’s contribution was steady but limited in a game dominated by Manchester City.
Alex Iwobi completed the season having appeared in all 38 of Fulham’s Premier League fixtures, contributing nine goals and six assists. Meanwhile, Calvin Bassey featured in 35 matches, scoring once — a memorable goal against Manchester United.
