“I’m on fire” – Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta trolled by former Super Eagles star after City loss

Published on by

Former Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has trolled Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta following their loss to Manchester City yesterday evening, Afrik Foot reports.

The Spaniard, after the loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League nine days ago, revealed he wasn’t particularly feeling any pressure; instead, he clarified he’s on fire.

Since Arteta’s statement, Arsenal haven’t won a game, even surrendering points against Manchester City, losing further ground in the race for the Premier League title.

Mikel Obi taunts Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta

Kai Havertz found the back of the net in the league for the first time this season, but either side of that were goals from Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland.

City closed the gap at the top of the Premier League table to just three points, although they have the chance to go level with the Gunners, considering they have a game in hand.

Mikel, speaking on the Obi One podcast, imitated Arteta’s hilarious interview, issuing a slight dig, as he’s not been the biggest fan of the football Arsenal have played this season.

“It’s a fair result, I must say. The best team won.

“Fire! I’m on fire! Bring it on. That’s the quote, isn’t it? Every week it’s always something new.

“One week they’re toggling with pens, and another week, it’s Tik Tok videos playing on the screen.

“Just calm down mate, relax. He’s rattled. Look at both sides, you can see who’s the experienced hand.

“Act normal Arteta, you don’t need to be on fire. You’ve been humbled by City,” the former Super Eagles captain concluded.
