Ademola Lookman’s future at Atalanta continues to be shrouded in uncertainty, with the latest reports suggesting the club will demand at least €60 million from any potential suitor.
Lookman is currently one of the most coveted wingers in Europe after starring for Atalanta last season. The Nigeria international shone the brightest in the Italian side’s European campaign as they won the UEFA Europa League.
The 26-year-old scored a sensational hat-trick in the final to inflict on Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen their first, and only defeat, throughout the 2023/24 campaign, as the Bergamo side recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over the Bundesliga champions.
Lookman ultimately ended the season with 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, with his key contributions helping Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to secure a top-four finish in the Serie A.
Atalanta slap €60m asking price on Ademola Lookman
The winger’s impressive season in the Italian top flight and in Europe has piqued the interest of some elite clubs, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea among those said to be chasing his signature.
German giants Bayern Munich have also been linked with a transfer for Lookman, as they aim to revamp their squad for next season after being dethroned as champions by Leverkusen.
Calcio Mercato report that Atalanta have slapped a €60m valuation on the Nigerian. The report suggests the Italian club are aware that not many teams in the Serie A can afford their star player and are, therefore, looking to sell him abroad.
Atalanta would consider Lookman sale on one condition
The report also states that while La Dea would welcome bids that match their valuation of Lookman, they are not prepared to lose both the Europa League final hero and midfielder Teun Koopmeiners in the same transfer window.
Atalanta are said to be aiming to build on their gains from the previous campaign and want to remain competitive as they’ll be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.
To this end, the club will only allow one of Lookman or Koopmeiners to leave this summer.
