Brazil striker Adriana has issued a warning ahead of their crucial opening Group C clash against Nigeria's Super Falcons at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The South American giants are bidding to make amends for their previous Olympics failures and secure their first gold medal, but Adriana is well aware of the formidable challenge posed by the nine-time African champions.
Adriana emphasized the importance of meticulous preparation for the Super Falcons vs Brazil game, stating that the encounter would come down to the details. “A detail from a set piece, for example, both in front to score a goal, and in defense to prevent the opponent’s goal,” she explained, as quoted by Sambafoot.
“That’s why we must pay all possible attention not only in the games but also in the day-to-day training.”
Concentration key to deciding Super Falcons vs Brazil
Despite her confidence in Brazil's ability, Adriana acknowledged the formidable challenge presented by the Super Falcons.
“This first game is decisive,” she said. “In fact, it’s always going to be that way.

“In any case, we have to have a lot of concentration, with a lot of focus, in this debut. And take it step-by-step,”
Brazil have come close to Olympics glory, securing two silver medals, but have yet to clinch the coveted gold. Adriana and her teammates are determined to change that narrative, and overcoming Nigeria in the opening match would undoubtedly send them on their way.
Nigeria, on the other hand, will be eager to prove their worth against a strong Brazilian side. With a challenging group that also includes reigning world champions Spain and Olympic silver medalists Japan, Randy Waldrum's side face an uphill battle.
