Bright Osayi-Samuel’s contract situation at Fenerbahce might be nearing a resolution, with the Super Eagles star’s agent summoned for crucial talks at the Istanbul club.
Since joining Fenerbahce in January 2021, the Nigeria international has established himself as a key figure for the Turkish side, transitioning from winger to right-back and excelling in his new role. However, with his current contract expiring in June 2025, negotiations for an extension have hit a stalemate, as both parties struggle to agree on terms.
According to Turkish outlet NTV Spor, Fenerbahce have called Osayi-Samuel’s agent to Istanbul to discuss the player's future. The versatile defender has been linked with a return to the Sky Bet Championship, with Norwich City reportedly interested, as well as French Ligue 1 side RC Lens.

With only eight months left on his contract, Osayi-Samuel will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with other clubs from January 2025, putting pressure on Fenerbahce to either extend his deal or risk losing him for free.
Fenerbahce face contract hurdles amid Norwich interest
The 26-year-old is reportedly open to extending his stay with Fenerbahce, but wage demands remain a sticking point. Osayi-Samuel has requested an annual salary of €2.5 million, while Fenerbahce’s offer currently stands at €1.5 million.
The club is keen to resolve the situation and avoid losing the former Queens Park Rangers player, who has made 145 appearances for Fenerbahce since his move in January 2021.

With Norwich City showing interest, Fenerbahce face pressure to strike a deal soon. Osayi-Samuel, known for his pace and adaptability, could return to England, where he made a name for himself in the Championship before his Turkish adventure.
Negotiations are expected to intensify, with a meeting set to take place next week between Fenerbahce officials and Osayi-Samuel’s agent, Steven Beck, as both sides aim to find common ground on the player’s future.
