Premier League giants Chelsea have revived their interest in Victor Osimhen after the Nigeria striker enjoyed another trophy-winning campaign with Galatasaray, Afrik-Foot reports.
According to Fotomac, Chelsea have initiated fresh talks with Osimhen and the player’s representatives are expected in Istanbul for discussions over his future at Galatasaray.
Barcelona-linked Osimhen enjoyed a remarkable 2025-26 season in Turkey, helping Galatasaray secure another Super Lig title. The former Napoli forward has 30 goal involvements (22 goals, eight assists) across all competitions, guiding Galatasaray to the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Despite public comments from Galatasaray officials suggesting they want the striker to remain in Istanbul, growing indications point towards a major summer transfer battle involving several top European clubs.
Chelsea are among the teams closely monitoring the situation as they continue plans for a major rebuild ahead of next season.

The Premier League side endured a disappointing campaign, finishing 10th and missing out on European football after collecting only 52 points. A difficult season also saw Enzo Maresca leave the club before former Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso was appointed to begin a new era at Stamford Bridge from July 1, 2026.
Chelsea’s recruitment team now sees Osimhen as one of the ideal players to lead Alonso’s rebuilding project. The Nigerian striker has long been admired at Stamford Bridge because of his pace, physicality, movement and ability to score consistently at the highest level.
Galatasaray officials are reportedly preparing face-to-face meetings with Osimhen’s camp to discuss the financial structure of a possible transfer to Chelsea. The player is also believed to remain interested in a move to west London, having previously spoken positively about the influence of former Chelsea stars Didier Drogba and John Obi Mikel.

Victor Osimhen: Chelsea face major financial challenge
Although Chelsea are serious about signing Victor Osimhen, negotiations are expected to be complicated because of the huge financial demands involved in the deal.
Galatasaray reportedly value Osimhen at over €100 million, while the player’s wage expectations are believed to be around €12 million to €15 million per year. Chelsea are trying to remain within their salary structure and could propose a performance-related package to reduce the overall financial risk.
The Blues are determined to improve an attack that struggled badly last season. Chelsea scored only 58 Premier League goals and often lacked a reliable centre-forward in crucial matches.
Osimhen’s profile fits perfectly into Alonso’s preferred style. The Spanish coach is expected to build an aggressive, high-tempo team that relies heavily on pressing, direct running and quick attacking transitions. Chelsea believe the Nigerian’s athleticism and finishing ability could transform their frontline immediately.

Galatasaray, however, are still hoping to convince the striker to stay. Osimhen became a cult hero during his spell in Turkey, with supporters embracing his trademark protective mask and celebrating his decisive performances in both domestic and European competitions.
One of his biggest moments came in the UEFA Champions League when he scored seven goals in 10 matches, including standout displays against Ajax, Juventus and Liverpool. His performances throughout the season reminded Europe’s biggest clubs why he remains one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.
Even so, there is growing acceptance inside Galatasaray that a major offer from an elite European side could eventually force a transfer. Chelsea now appear ready to test that possibility as the summer window edges closer.
