Dele-Bashiru’s stunning assist seals Lazio’s third straight Europa League win

Lazio has continued to shine in the UEFA Europa League after securing yet another critical victory with the help of a remarkable performance from Super Eagles star Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

The Nigerian midfielder, known as a sharp playmaker, delivered a decisive assist in the closing moments of their 2-0 win over FC Twente, a win that sealed their position at the top of the group standings.

This remarkable feat was achieved despite Twente being reduced to 10 men early in the game.

The match, held at De Grolsch Veste, was crucial for Lazio as they looked to build on their impressive European run.

Following a dominant 4-1 victory over Nice in their previous match, Lazio faced a setback in Serie A, losing 1-0 to Juventus.

Yet, Dele-Bashiru's commanding presence and well-timed assist were vital in Lazio's recovery and resurgence in the Europa League.

Despite an early scare for Twente, who saw their goalkeeper dismissed after just 11 minutes for a foul on Boulaye Dia, the Dutch side remained competitive until the dying minutes.

Pedro’s goal had given Lazio the lead, but it was Dele-Bashiru’s critical pass to substitute Gustav Isaksen in the 87th minute that put the match beyond doubt, leaving the home side with little hope of a comeback.

This latest victory means Lazio has now won three consecutive Europa League matches, an achievement they have managed only twice before.

The 23-year-old Super Eagles midfielder also excelled in other areas, completing 50 accurate passes and making several key plays in the final third.

With Lazio topping the group, fans are already looking forward to their next match against FC Porto.

But before then, however, Lazio must shift focus back to Serie A as they prepare for an important clash with Genoa this weekend.
