Premier League dream still alive? Galatasaray reveal key detail in Victor Osimhen deal

Published on by

Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has shared a major detail about the contract that brought Victor Osimhen to Turkey, Afrik-Foot reports.

Galatasaray pulled off one of the biggest transfers of last summer when they signed Osimhen from Napoli for €75 million. Many of Europe’s richest clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, had been watching the Nigerian striker closely.

Despite that strong interest, Galatasaray won the race and handed Osimhen a four-year contract.

Just eight months later, the 27-year-old is again being linked with a move away after a brilliant run of form. He has scored ten league goals and added seven goals plus two assists in the Champions League.

In December, Osimhen also impressed at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He scored four goals and provided two assists in six matches to help Nigeria finish third.

His performances have once again attracted interest from top European clubs, with Juventus, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly monitoring his situation.

No release clause in Victor Osimhen’s contract

There were suggestions that Galatasaray might have protected themselves with a huge release clause in Osimhen’s contract.

However, President Özbek has made it clear that this is not the case.Speaking about the situation as per OdaTV, Özbek said:

There is no release clause in Osimhen’s contract. He is an extremely successful player and will serve Galatasaray for many years.”

Özbek also admitted that some people felt the €75 million fee paid to Napoli was too high at the time. But he now believes many agree the striker is worth even more.

Reports suggest Galatasaray would only consider offers around €150 million, although it remains unclear how many clubs can afford such a fee, especially given Osimhen’s high wages.

While Osimhen has often spoken warmly about Galatasaray and the fans, he has also been open about his dream of playing in the Premier League one day.

For now, though, the Turkish champions are standing firm, and there is no release clause to make things easy for any interested club.
