Hull City have been offered the chance to sign Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi as the Premier League newcomers continue rebuilding their squad ahead of the 2026-27 season, Afrik-Foot reports.
The 27-year-old Nigerian forward has been placed on the transfer market by French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, with his representatives from Elite Project Group (EPG) actively presenting him to clubs in England. Hull City has emerged as one of the clubs considering the opportunity as owner Acun Ilıcalı and head coach Sergej Jakirović strengthen the squad for life back in the Premier League.
Moffi’s time at Nice appears to be over after relations between the striker, the club’s management and sections of the supporters broke down midway through last season. The situation became more difficult in late 2025 when dozens of angry Nice supporters reportedly stormed the club’s training ground following poor results. During the incident, Moffi was said to have been among the players confronted and physically assaulted, leaving his future at the club in serious doubt.

In an attempt to revive his career, the Nigerian spent the second half of last season on loan at Portuguese champions FC Porto. Although Porto went on to win the league title, Moffi found regular goals difficult to come by, scoring two goals and providing one assist in 15 appearances across all competitions. Porto eventually decided not to activate the €8 million option to make the move permanent.
Nice have since made their position clear. Sporting director Roger Ricort has admitted the club is searching for a permanent solution, with Moffi continuing to train only because of contractual obligations while the French side looks to reduce its wage bill.
Hull City are weighing up the opportunity alongside other attacking targets. The Tigers have already shown interest in Justin Njinmah of Werder Bremen and have also been linked with Toulouse striker Emerson and Senegal international Bamba Dieng. However, they are not alone in the race for Moffi, with Turkish giants Beşiktaş also pushing to secure the Super Eagles striker.

Why Hull City could be the perfect move for Moffi
A move to Hull City could offer Moffi exactly what he needs to restart his career after two difficult seasons.
First, the Premier League would put him back on football’s biggest stage. England’s top flight attracts the largest global audience, giving Moffi the chance to rebuild his reputation with every strong performance. Consistent goals against elite opposition would also strengthen his case for a regular place in Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles squad, where competition for attacking positions remains fierce. Just as importantly, leaving France permanently would finally close a difficult chapter that has been overshadowed by injuries, poor form and fan unrest.

Second, Hull City have a genuine need for an experienced centre-forward. Following promotion, Jakirović is reshaping almost every area of the squad. While the club has pursued wide players such as Marco Pašalić and Elliot Stroud to improve creativity, it is still searching for a reliable striker capable of leading the attack in the Premier League. Moffi’s physical strength, pace and experience in Ligue 1 and European football could make him an ideal focal point rather than just another squad player.
Finally, Hull City’s ambitious project could provide the stability Moffi has been missing. Ilıcalı has invested heavily since the club secured promotion, bringing in experienced players while targeting young international talents across Europe. The club has already completed a goalkeeper deal for Jack Butland, is closing in on Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, and continues to pursue reinforcements in midfield and attack. Joining such a project would allow Moffi to be part of a team determined to establish itself in the Premier League instead of simply fighting against relegation.
