Samuel Chukwueze's late header for AC Milan wasn't enough to secure a point against Lazio, as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the San Siro.

The Super Eagles winger, coming off the bench in the 70th minute, made an immediate impact, heading home a crucial equalizer. His goal, his third of the season, sparked a brief moment of hope for Milan.

His stats from the 20 minutes he played were a goal, one shot on target, one successful dribble out of one attempt, and ten total touches. However, his passing accuracy was low, at 33%, completing only one of three passes. He also won one of three ground duels.

Despite his goal, Milan's struggles continue, and fans have taken to social media to voice their opinions on Chukwueze's role and the team's overall performance.

Chukwueze's impact and fan reactions

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to react. One fan questioned, “How on earth did Samuel Chukwueze pull off that unbelievable header against Lazio?” highlighting the unexpected nature of his goal.

Others advocated for him to start games, with one saying, “Chukwueze, I wanna see this guy start. May not be at Milan but I really like him.”

Some fans suggested tactical changes, proposing a starting lineup that included Chukwueze.

Another fan noted that the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner performs better when coming off the bench in attack-focused situations, stating, “Chukwueze is under less pressure coming off the bench in games where the only thing that is sought is to attack by any means. When it is games where Milan must circulate the ball, he looks lost and erratic.”

There was also frustration regarding his limited playing time. “Second time that Chukwueze responds well to the coach and then they leave him on the bench,”

One fan wrote, questioning the manager's decisions. Comparisons were also drawn between the Nigerian and teammate Christian Pulisic, with one user pointing out;
